Rescar, Inc. is hiring a full-time Weld/NDE Trainer in Channelview (Houston area), TX.
GENERAL PURPOSE: Perform instructional and hands-on training with Rescar new hire and experienced employees in all methods of welding, non-destructive examination / testing (NDE / NDT) Safety, and quality assurance. The Trainer will conduct audits within the plant on weld / NDE processes and complete any associated paper work / reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Training: Perform instructional classroom and practical hands-on training with Rescar new hire and experienced employees in all methods of Welding, NDE / NDT where applicable, safety procedures, quality assurance, and Rescar special processes. Maintain and assist in revising all training documentation, records, training database, and procedures as needed to comply with changes to industry or customer requirements.
- Auditing & Compliance: Participate in internal audits to assure that employees are following weld/NDT procedures appropriately and that the minimum regulatory and customer requirements are being followed.
- Quality: Enforce and help all levels of Rescar employees recognize quality as a key element of customer satisfaction and meeting Rescar's business goals. Participate in providing quality assurance training to all employees.
- Safety: Train Rescar employees on safety practices related to welding/NDT and ensure that all Rescar safety policies are followed.
- Technical Communication to Non-Technical Audience: Simplify or modify complex technical information as needed to communicate it orally or in writing to non-technical Company staff (e.g., senior managers, shop employees, customers).
- Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in welding or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of related experience as a Weld Engineer, Welding Instructor / Trainer in a heavy industrial environment.
- Must be proficient in GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and blueprint reading.
- AWS CWI or CWE certification preferred.
- Experience with NDE methods in VT, LT, PT, MT, and UTT preferred.
- Strong computer skills (MS-Office, Internet).
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Bi-Lingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
- Working Knowledge of: Welding, Cutting, and Fabrication; Material Properties & Failure Analysis; Personal Protective Equipment and procedures. OHSA and Safety requirements as they apply to industrial work procedures; Railcar Repair (All car types) - preferred; Railcar Repair Procedures, Customer Requirements & Quality Assurance Manuals - preferred; Strong Industry knowledge (AAR, FRA, TC Tank Regulations) - preferred.
